I use this product every time we want to go into our hot tub. It has been a perfect tester to determine how much product is needed to get the correct ph and chlorine amounts in the water.

I bought this test kit the first time about three years ago and was really pleased with how it performed. I still have plenty of strips left, but after three years the strips were no longer giving accurate results for the Hardness test. Since I was happy with the way the test kit had performed, I decided to purchase this same kit again. After I received the new kit, I tested my pool water and it was showing no Free Chlorine. Since I still had test strips left over from the kit that I bought three years ago I decided to check the water with one of the old test strips. It showed that I had adequate Free Chlorine. Thinking that I just got a bad test kit, I decided to send the new test kit back and ordered another test kit to replace it. The replacement kit arrived and I tested my water and I got the same results ( no Free Chlorine). I took a water sample in to my pool supply store and had them test it and it showed that I had plenty of free chlorine. Needless to say I have returned the replacement kit also. I don’t know why the new kits are not working properly but I was very disappointed because I was very happy with the original kit that I bought three years ago.

I had a whole-home HALO5 filtration system installed recently and felt like our water was much harder than when we only had a water softener. Bought a box of these to check for hardness. Easy to use and the hardness registers almost immediately. IF YOU HAVE HARD WATER, you need to check them within 30 seconds or so, otherwise the color of the test changes (see picture). When the filtration guy came out to check the HALO5 system, he read the strip immediately, and after a few minutes and said it wasn't that hard. I asked him to use another strip and that they were supposed to be read within 30 seconds. Within just a few minutes, it starts showing the original color of the test strip (which is green for soft). You can still see some of the rust color, but the green definitely shows through. I tried this with distilled (soft) water and the test color showed very soft. After an hour it was the same color just a bit lighter. BE SURE TO READ THE STRIP WITHIN 30 SECONDS FOR ACCURACY!
