Is good, but not for me. Smells way too strong!!!
Bottom line: It works really well for its intended purpose, but your head will have a strong smell for days!!I appreciate all that is natural about this product, its ingredients are 100% vegan and cruelty-free with essential oils and herbs. There's no hydroxy-, -sulfate, hexyl-whatever listed in the ingredients. The mask is supposed to be good for the health of your scalp to promote hair growth, reduce shedding, and improve hair texture. Also has ingredients with antifungal and antibacterial properties. So I was eager to try it for my very long hair that I try to keep healthy as much as possible. The instructions are to mix an appropriate amount of powder with either orange juice or coconut milk to create a smooth paste. Apply paste to hair, put shower cap over it for 30 to 45 minutes, and then rinse out. Seems simple enough, but it left me with a lot of questions. Should I apply to shampooed hair, wet hair, dry hair? Do I shampoo it out, use conditioner, or just use water? I decided to use coconut milk and since I didn't want to just use a quarter can, I mixed the whole can of coconut milk with the whole bag of mask powder. I thought it would be okay if I left it in the fridge for a few weeks. The instructions didn't say to mix only what I was going to use immediately, nor did it say that it couldn't be stored once mixed. So I put it in the fridge until I was ready to use it, which was about an hour later. My mistake was not letting it warm to room temp before applying it to my hair because it definitely firmed up and had the consistency of store bought frosting. So needless to say, it was not easy to apply to my head and hair. The scent was a mixture of incense and curry paste, and it was strong! It was definitely not to my liking, but I knew I had to proceed. 30 minutes later, I shampooed and conditioned the paste out of my hair. My hair felt nice - clean but not dry, silky, and light. But boy did it smell!! It smelled so strong I couldn't go nose-blind to it, and I could smell it all night into the next day and beyond. The smell was on everything it touched - my clothes, towel, bedsheets, etc., and it permeated a radius of about 6 feet around me. I was not happy about it, I felt self-conscious about going out in public. Instead of waiting my usual 3 days to wash my hair again, I washed it the next day, and the next day. It does smell better now 4 days later when it’s dry, but it’s still pretty strong when my hair's wet. I'm big on smells, and I like everything I put on me to either smell nice or neutral. If you're like me, you'll probably want to skip this product no matter how well it works. If you don't mind smelling strongly of exotic spices, I would say go for it, your scalp and hair will thank you for it.

Very nice for your hair but wash your hands thoroughly
This hair mask does wonders for my hair. The product is a dry powdery consistency when dry and a wet clay like consistency when wet. Be sure to wear gloves or wash your hands thoroughly as the product can stain. The hair mask has a strong aroma of spices such as turmeric and clove.

Love that it’s natural, but way too hard to use
I appreciate that this is totally natural, I prefer that whenever possible. However, the instructions are minimal and unhelpful. Basically just says ‘dump out as much as you need and add liquid of choice until it forms a paste, apply and cover so it doesn’t dry’I made a very liquid paste in hopes that it would make application easier and so I could really massage it on the scalp- it dried almost instantly when put on my hair. It was so hard to apply, impossible to get on at all evenly. It made a huge mess and I felt like I was breaking my hair off trying to get it on. It just wasn’t worth the hassle to me. I’ll be looking for something else.

Natural, chemical free way to keep hair healthy and soft
Pretty good to naturally nourish and repair hair. The powder itself has a pretty strong herbal spice aroma that I personally like. The powder is finely ground and mixes easy. The instructions are simple, and I chose to mix it with coconut milk to make a smooth paste. I section my hair and apply the paste with my hands starting from scalp to root (process can be a little messy-- put a towel on floor incase anything falls). I do this before shampooing my hair. I leave it on for about 35-45 minutes and I put a shower cap over my head to keep it from drying out. After rinsing my hair feels soft and manageable. I then use a mild shampoo to wash my hair. My strands have a healthy shine and I notice less frizz. I'm impressed with the ROOTS AND HERBS Ayurvedic Hair Mask. It's a natural and effective treatment that gives visible results. I love that it's vegan and free of harmful chemicals. This mask will definitely be a staple in my hair care routine.

directions unclear
I havr not used this yet because i had a couple questions about the use. I wonder if it can be used mixed with something other than coconut oil or water? It also isnt very clear as to what all it is and does, but it has really good ingredients for the hair, so i will try it one day, but as soon as i figure it out

Best at home treatment for my long hair
I enjoy how simple it is to put this together and put it on your hair. It’s something that you be can do by yourself. The packet is large enough to get a couple of uses. It’s made of quality ingredients and feels great when you have it on. I’d say the hair mask performs very well as my hair looks amazing afterwards. You can’t beat it for the price! It’s a very good value that leaves you looking like you spent a lot more than you did!

Not worth it
Invest in a premade hair mask if you need to. This is too much trouble in my opinion.
