Yes, 12V max input of HQST 40A mppt controller is 600W; 24V max input is 1200W. If you use 24V battery system, it is okay. If you need to use 800 watt array for 12V, the charging current of the controller will still be limited to 40A, and the heat generation of the controller will increase. In this case, the lifespan of the controller will be reduced, so we do not recommend using 12V.

Q: Can this handle 2 350W / 18V panels ?

Hello, the max PV input power of 40A controller is 600W/12V. It is recommended to use 3 pieces of 200W panels, or 6 pieces of 100W panels.

Q: Will it work with Lithium ion phosphate battery?

Yes, absolutely.You can use the factory lithium preset or dial in settings for your specific setup with the User setting.

Q: Is it 20a or 40a? there are 2 choices but the desc for both is as if it is only a 20a device. why even mention 40a if the device is limited to 20?
