A Budget-Friendly Optic That Punches Above Its Weight
I recently added the SIG Sauer Tango-MSR LPVO 1-6x24mm Waterproof Fog-Proof Rugged Tactical Hunting Scope (Illuminated MSR BDC-6 Reticle, Black) to my AR-15 setup, and I’m honestly blown away by how much value you get for the price. This low-power variable optic (LPVO) is perfect for anyone looking to dip their toes into the LPVO world without dropping a fortune. What I Like: The clarity of the glass is fantastic for a scope in the $280-$350 range. The 6x optical system with low-dispersion glass delivers a crisp, bright sight picture, even in low light, and I’ve had no trouble picking up targets at 50 to 200 yards. The illuminated MSR BDC-6 reticle is a standout—its 1-MOA center dot and horseshoe design make close-range shooting feel like using a red dot, while the Christmas-tree-style holdovers are great for quick bullet drop and windage adjustments at longer ranges. With 11 brightness settings, the reticle stays visible in bright daylight or dim conditions, and the etched design means it’s still usable if the CR2032 battery dies. The included ALPHA-MSR cantilever mount is a huge bonus—solid, easy to install, and no extra cost. The integrated throw lever is smooth for quick magnification changes, and the flip-back lens covers are high quality, laying flat when open. The Specs That Matter: At 18.5 oz and with a 30mm tube, it’s lightweight enough not to weigh down your rifle. The second focal plane (SFP) reticle stays the same size across the 1-6x magnification, which I find perfect for fast target acquisition at 1x. Eye relief is solid at 3.74-3.93 inches, though the eye box can be a bit tight at 6x, especially if your cheek weld isn’t perfect. It’s IPX-7 rated, so it’s waterproof (up to 1 meter) and fog-proof, and I’ve had no issues in wet or humid conditions. The 0.5 MOA turret adjustments are tactile and hold zero well—I zeroed it at 100 yards with 5.56 NATO and had consistent groups after 60 rounds. The Drawbacks: It’s not flawless. The eye box at 6x can be unforgiving, and I needed a 0.42-inch riser to get a comfortable sight picture due to my shooting stance, as one Amazon reviewer noted. The BDC reticle is calibrated for 5.56 NATO, so if you’re shooting other calibers like .300 BLK, you’ll need to build your own drop chart, as it won’t align perfectly. I’m also not the biggest fan of the horseshoe reticle style—some prefer simpler designs—but it’s functional with practice. The mount is great but lacks a quick-detach feature, which would’ve been nice for swapping optics. Lastly, while the glass is clear, it’s not quite on par with high-end scopes like the Trijicon Credo or SIG’s own Tango6T, but that’s expected at this price.Overall: The SIG Sauer Tango-MSR 1-6x24mm is a steal for what it offers. It’s rugged, clear, and versatile, making it ideal for tactical shooting, hunting, or 3-gun competitions on a budget. The included mount, throw lever, and lens covers add insane value, and it’s made in SIG’s Oregon facility, so quality is solid. I’d give it a 4.5/5—knocked half a point for the tight eye box and reticle preference. If you’re looking for an affordable LPVO that performs like a pricier one, this is a no-brainer. Just be ready to tweak your setup for perfect alignment

Biggest bang for least buck
The quality of this thing is amazing for what you’re paying. I was zeroed within a single mag, and shooting out to 100yrds with some serious accuracy. Even with an Astigmatism, I can see fairly clear down range. Super easy to install with the printed level line, and even easier to zero if you know how to read a target. Will definitely be replacing my red dot+magnifier set up.Watch out for sales, as I picked this up for $250 and couldn’t be happier.

great for the money
I would have left 4.5 stars, but i cannot. it deserves more than 4 irregardless.my only gripe is the mount, i dont like those mounts with the nuts that protruding, they create snag points, are prone to loosening, and I bang my finger on them when I rack the charging handle.otherwise a great product

Love these optics I own 3!
Best esthetic accessorie I've ever put on a roof of mouth scratcher! If fit and finish is flawless! Glass so clear there's no way I could miss! And its illuminated! For the price you really can't beat how it redisbutes the weight for proper reversed handling!10/10, last optic I'll ever purchase!

Good enough
The scope body and mount feel and look great. The glass is acceptable at this price, but definitely has some fish eye effect and limited eye relief. My only real complaint is the dials. The clicks are very soft which is a problem because they’re also coarse at 0.5 MOA. But once it’s sighted in that’s no longer a factor.Would I defend my countries honor with this scope? Nope. But I will shoot paper at 100yds with it. It’s a “cheap scope” so lower expectations but for the price point I don’t think it can be beat. The next closest option is Vortex at double the price so this is a good buy.
