Siberian Goose Down is a marketing gimmick. For more information, Google the Down Association of Canada for this topic. Hi..can someone tell me about fill power" and "50 oz?" What is the importance of these features?  Thanks.

Down loft (spring back) is measured.  Greater loft means holding for heat with fewer pieces of down.   500 is poor.   1000 is highest.  Higher costs more because down is not side product of geese for eating and raised only for the down.  750 is high quality.   750 traps more air than 500.   Perhaps it will take 80 ounces of 500 down to be as warm as 40 ounces of 750 down in same size comforter.  Also the higher quality down springs back quicker and longer (decades).  Baffle construction (rectangular 3-D box) is best to allow loft of down and heat not to escape through the stitching.

i am seriously considering buying this but i need to know if the feathers leak out? at this price i think they shouldn't. thanx for your help

Are all of the reviews for the Luxurious Siberian Goose down Comforter?  If it is down there are NO FEATHERS TO LEAK!. Does everyone mean down is leaking? Also if a comforter is making noises it is most likely the fill has feathers or the comforter cover is something other than cotton.  Just reading some of the reviews are for other products and very frustrating to attempt sorting out the information.

Has anyone actually tried to wash this comforter in the washing machine?

I ALWAYS wash my down comforters in the largest front load washer at a laundromat.  Hot water.  Extra extraction.  Use 2 cups BORAX and a squirt of DAWN dish washing liquid in the wash cycle.  NO FABRIC SOFTENER!!!  It gums up the down.  I only put it in the dryer for about 10 or 15 minutes.  Then I take it home and hang it on the clothesline.  Down takes a long time to dry.  After it is dry, I put it in the dryer for about 5 minutes to fluff it.  I also put my down comforters in the dryer (dry) everytime I change my duvet cover.  About 10 minutes on high to kill dust mites.  I sometimes put a few drops of ROSEMARY essential oil on a cloth and put it in the dryer with the down comforter when I am killing dust mites.

I do not dry clean my down comforters because of the chemicals they use.  Also, the SAME chemicals are used to launder other peoples stuff.  They change the chemical bath when the solution gets dirty.  GROSS!
