The Lego Movie Soundtrack

After watching and LOVING the Lego Movie, I knew I had to get the soundtrack. Mark Mothersbaugh (of Devo fame, who also composed the music to many famous fan favorite movies and shows, such as the Rugrats cartoon) did the music here, and the combination of classical/orchestral with techno/pop/electronic makes for a REALLY fun listening experience.We get no less than four different versions of the addictive "Everything is Awesome" song. One by Tegan and Sara (that's in the end credits of the movie); an instrumental version (of the Tegan and Sara version); the regular version that plays on the radio when Emmet is on his way to work at the beginning of the movie, and an "unplugged" version that's much more calmer and slower.As for the score itself, it's pretty incredible, jumping to all sorts of moods, from happy, to heartbreaking, to downright silly. Emmet's main "on the way to work" theme is cleverly woven throughout the score, but manipulated in various ways as the plot demands. Lord Business' music is both menacing and giggle-worthy as he hams it up as the villain (at certain points, it even sounds like the chorus is chanting the word "Legos" ). Both the themes for the Old West realm and Metalbeard's character get you appropriately hyped for either cowboys or pirates respectively.My own personal favorites would have to be:--"Escape" (the motorcycle chase sequence where GCBC pursues Emmet and Wildstyle-it sounds like it came out of an episode of "Batman Beyond")--"Wyldstyle Leads" (where Wyldstyle rallies the people to unite against Lord Business and leads the charge-seriously, the epicness of the final few bars is right up there with "Lord of the Rings")--"I Am a Master Builder" (the final fight against Lord Business; the sequence where ANGRY Unikitty appears)--and "Cloud Coo-Coo Land and Ben the Spaceman" (the joyous, hyperactive theme for Unikitty and Benny)Which, speaking of Unikitty, the Cloud Coo-Coo Land theme that appears on this soundtrack is NOT the one featured in the film. It must've been an alternate track of sorts, because the music that's actually heard in the movie when the gang gets to CCCL is an instrumental version of the song, "Jag in a Jungle" by Brite Futures. You'll have to go to either ITunes or YouTube to find and download the song. Just a word of warning to those who thought the music they heard in the film was the one they were getting. But as far as I can tell, that's the only track that changed from film to CD.And for any fans of Batman, a longer version of his heavy metal song, "Untitled Self Portrait" is also included (and it plays during the end credits if you wait patently. There's also a music video for it in the special features of the movie's DVD). It's gut bustingly hilarious, and will have you screaming, "DARKNESS! NO PARENTS!!!" for a month. XDSimply put, if you loved the movie, you HAVE to own this soundtrack. And I think even the casual music lover will enjoy this hour or so cartoonish romp.

Dont let the haters fool you. The everything is awesome song from the movie is on here; both versions are: the one from the montage during the film and the credits version.The people who are complaining that it devolves into rap: yea, it did that in the movie to. Just remember in the film that song gets restarted a couple of times so what you were hearing is really the beginning more than once.My only complaint is the batman song; its technically identical to whats in the movie. Unfortunately in the movie its kind of a short song and I was hoping this would have more verses. (not that I have any right to hold that against the song; it was written to be that length for that section of the film and they didnt have any reason to make a longer version so they didnt)

You get the physical disc with all the music from the Lego Movie PLUS Amazon is kind enough to provide a free digital version for those that like instant gratification and can't wait for delivery. The best of both worlds!In addition to getting all the tracks heard from the movie (every single one, even the background themes) you get some bonus tracks that include a few variations of the one song that made everyone want to buy this in the first place - Everything is Awesome (even an instrumental version to sing to)!I highly recommend listening to track 27 which is the full version of the song that Batman sings (the part shown in the movie is only an excerpt).

This is am excellent soundtrack! I listen to it regularly. There's only a couple of minor things I didn't enjoy about it, and that was some of the music at the end of the soundtrack. The "Everything is awesome"at the end of the soundtrack is ok, but isn't much compared to the one at the beginning of the soundtrack. The other "Everything is awesome" I'm not even sure why it is on here. Lastly, I didn't really enjoy the instrumental "Everything is awesome". I did like the "Untitled Self Portrait" however. It brings a smile to my face every time I listen to it!The original "Everything is awesome" is definitely awesome, and the instrumental music in the track is also awesome!

We did things a little backwards here because we purchased the video game first and loved it so much, so we bought the soundtrack. This has been a huge hit with my son and by the time we actually saw the movie, he was able to sing along to the credit scroll at the end. It's a great movie, soundtrack and video game. Just be warned... The title song will get stuck in your head! :)

I was euphoric after seeing this amazing movie with my kids...so I got this album when I got home.The main song and the various remixes.....very fun. Kids and I love dancing and fooling around to the music.The subversive happy "unplugged" version is also amazing...yet disturbing underneath it all. Great!And the "Pièce de résistance" (aka Piece or resistance" :-) has to be the Batman song...it is real music and very very important.But the rest of the tracks....background movie score stuff. Boring. Recommendation: Buy three or four of the singles and save a few bucks.TLDR: Three or four awesome songs. And a bunch of filler. But don't worry, everything is awesome!

There are several versions of Everything is Awesome...my new ringtone ;) but my son wanted it for will arnet's batman song. There are some instrumentals that I didn't think we needed but I'm not a 12 year old boy and he insisted on them all. You might want to listen to samples and just pick the songs you like best but your kids might think differently! Lego Movie fans will love it.

Great Boy Music! There's so many albums of music out there that little girls love. This one is for the boys in our house! Although my daughters love it as well. I'm glad I bought it. I have a little boy who builds with legos every day, so this album was the hit of his birthday party.

Everything is awesome! This is an excellent soundtrack for anyone that loves the lego movie. I was very impressed by the quality and fun level of the entire production. There are several versions of the catchy tune "Everything is Awesome" on this cd. Great purchase!

Der Soundtrack von Mark Mothersbaugh zu "The Lego Movie" ruft beim Hören gleich die Bilder des Kinofilms vor dem geistigen Auge hervor! Dramatische Stücke wechseln sich mit ruhigen ab und ihre Anordnung auf der CD folgt weitgehend der chronologischen Reihenfolge im Film. Die meisten Stücke sind instrumental. Der markante Song "Hier ist alles super" wird im englischen Original in den unterschiedlichen Variationen gesungen, genau wie im Film. Ich empfehle den Soundtrack zu "The Lego Movie" allen Menschen, die die Musik genauso gern mochten wie den Film selbst! Wer die Lieder allerdings lieber auf Deutsch hören möchte, kann nur hoffen, dass es irgendwann ein Hörspiel zum Film gibt!

A falta de la versión en español, por eso no le damos 4 estrellas, es la banda sonora de la película en la que destaca exclusivamente el tema de la misma "It's Awesome" (aquí sería "Todo es fabuloso) que aparece hasta en 4 formatos/versiones incluida una sosa versión acústica. Me quedo con el tema en versión original, que es el que me hizo comprar el disco.

I watched the movie and loved the soundtrack.. so just had to get this variations of "everything is awesome" aside an very good set of music from the movies has everything in it that you expect. including as noted at least 3 versions of "Everything is Awesome"...

LEGOに馴染みの薄い方は、予告編を見るより、オモチャ屋さんとかAmazonとかでLEGO商品のラインナップを眺めたり、Web上でググって各種LEGOサイトで作品鑑賞をした方が良い予習と成るでしょう。映画自体は「子供向き映画」と舐めて見始めて、「何じゃこりゃ〜〜〜〜〜(@Д@)!?」と打ちのめされるのが、此の映画の正しい鑑賞スタイルです。流石に、LEGO未体験のお子様や「LEGOって何？」って大人にはお勧めしかねますが。開幕からいきなり飛び込んでくるのは、本物のLEGOブロックで作ってあると錯覚してしまう、圧倒的に広大なミニチュアワールド(CG製)です。殆ど全ての場面が、既にLEGOアートと言って良いんですよね。会社の枠をも時として乗り越える映画のパロディが嵐の如く繰り出されます。導入部からして「ロード・オブ・ザ・リング」ですよ。その他の映画パロディは多過ぎて、余程の映画通じゃないと把握しきれないようです。怒濤のハイスピードストーリーが展開し、過激なスラップスティックで子供を魅了する一方で、ちりばめられた社会人向けブラックジョークが、子供の傍らで見ている大人の壺をグサグサと刺します。その過激さ、隠された毒気に思わず「これ、ホントに子供向きなのか？」と呟いてしまう事でしょう。いや、情報量多過ぎて、子供は付いてこれないかもしれない。少なくとも子供には吹き替え版がお薦めですが、高速の台詞の洪水は小さな子供にはちょっと厳しいかな？そして物語終盤に仕掛けられたどんでん返しに向けて張られた伏線、結果示される多重構造・メタ構造は、評論家を唸らせ、子供にLEGOを買い与える保護者の「親心」をガッチリと捕みます。「建築」と「破壊」、「模倣」と「個性」など、「創造とは何か」と言うイマジネーションの真理をも突き詰めつつ、親と子の関係と言うハートウォームなテーマが物語の裏に用意されているのです。ラストは感動し「イイハナシダッタナー」と穏やかな調和で終わる……かと思いきや、大人も子供も思わず「ソウナノー？」と叫びたくなる爆笑のオチが待っています。見終わった心に残るのは「全ては最高〜〜」と言う洗脳ソングと「LEGO買おか〜。」「LEGO作るか〜。」と言う販促効果。LEGO社の、LEGOによる、LEGO販売のための家族映画と言えましょう。つけたしユダヤの伝説の動く人形「ゴーレム」は額だか台座だかに有る「エメト emeth(真理、神の真実の意)」の文字の力で動くとか。主人公「エメット」の名は此処から来ている？物語の発端から登場する賢者「ウィトルウィウス」は共和制ローマ時代の建築家・建築理論家で、現存する最古の建築理論書「De Architectura」の著者。画像的には同著作の記述をもとに、レオナルド・ダ・ヴィンチが描いた「ウィトルウィウス的人体図」が有名で、美術関係の「頭身」や「プロポーション」の説明で見た事が有るかも。実在の古代の建築家から名前を取ってるって、LEGOらしい。ヒロイン「ワイルド・ガール」の原名「ワイルド・スタイル」も、グラフィティ文化をはじめとするヒップホップ、その筋で有名な映画のタイトルかららしい----って、どんだけ凝ってるんだ。ああああ、レビューを投稿してから気が付いた。こちらはサントラＣＤのレビューでDVD&ブルーレイのじゃなかったんだ。でも音楽もサイコーだったんで今更レビューは書き直さない。久々に映画のサントラＣＤを買ってしまったのだ。
