Set Of 2 Pestbye Battery Operated Electronic Ultrasonic Garden Cat Repeller Repellent Scarer The repeller comes with an infra-red (PIR) motion sensor which turns the device on when a warm body enters the controlled area. With the motion sensor, the theory is that cat learns to associate the noise with its own movement and is therefore much less likely to stop become desensitized to the noise. The device covers an 80 degree arc, to a distance of up to 23ft(7m), giving a total unobstructed working area of 184sq ft. Unlike most other repellers this allows you to cover a smaller area with the sensitivity dial. The repeller will give you the full 7m if the dial is fully round to the right; to decrease the distance turn to the left; this will help increase battery life as the repeller will cover the distance you want it to. If cats have a habit of feeding and fouling in your garden, it may take longer to achieve the desired effect. If you have a dog, it may be affected if it is allowed in the same part of the garden. The sound doesn't travel well through walls and fences, so it should not affect a dog in the house or a neighbour's dog. As with all methods involving animal behaviour, we can't guarantee effectiveness in every situation, however feedback from customers suggests that this device is effective in many situations. The device allows the changing of the frequency of the ultrasonic noise, potentially making it possible to target animals with hearing in different ultrasonic ranges, such as foxes and dogs. Dimensions: Height 10.5cm, Width 10.5cm, Depth 4.7cm. Please note: Includes 2 units

Works to repeal 50% of the cats and 100% of the squirrels
The reviews are right, for some of the cats, indoors or outdoors it works. I used these both indoors to keep cats out of the corners and from behind the sofa's. Same, one indoor cat did not like them, the other could care less. However, the tree squirrels were stripping my tangerine and blood orange trees. I placed 2 of these set at different settings focused at the trees and it works. So 4 stars because it works to repel 50% of the cats and so far 100% of the squirrels.

They just stroll into the prohibited area like its nobody's business
I've actually set these up at the entrance of my living/dining room area to keep my cats from destroying my new sofa set. 3 of my 4 cats are unaffected by them. They just stroll into the prohibited area like its nobody's business. This happens at the highest frequency setting. I really hoped that this product would have worked because I do love my pets but I didn't want my new leather sofas to get damaged by them.

Set the unit frequency to 3, 4, or 5.
These work. They work. They work. If a review tells you otherwise, either the frequency was not set at 3, 4, or 5 as recommended for cats, or the batteries were put in incorrectly. We plan to buy at least four more units. Thank you pestbye.

Evicting cats humanely.
I live next door to a cat lady. As soon as I put batteries in this device and walked out to my driveway. Two cats ran down from try away from my house. Hissing and yelling at me. This thing works. Im ordering some more to create a barrier. Just hope they dont get used to the frequency too soon.

Biggest gimmick
What a waste of money... I bought 2 sets of 2 and all 4 are set at 4 corners of my lawn. And the cats are having a ball all over the lawn and around the sensors. I am sending them back. And as far as I am concerned Amazon should not carry such b.s items as eventually this will hurt Amazon's reputation

Keeps cats AWAY!!
Really does work! If you want to make the investment - do it! I've already bought 6 through out the years..Try to keep yard sprinklers off of it - because after time the sun will deteriorate the white plastic (it gets over 100 degrees here) and the water can sneek into the unit..

Not impressed.
Does nothing to get rid of cats. Actually saw cat licking the device. Tried different volume and frequency settings, motion sensor light comes on and I can hear the clicking noise, but cats still walk right up to the repellent device. The positive is that it is easy to install.

Scares away teenagers better than cats
These have not stopped our invading cat and dog issues. I have thought of returning them but am giving them a few more weeks. I am so tired of cleaning up after other people's pets. I now have a camera out to identify the culprit. I really would not recommend these. I can not hear them but my teenage grandchildren hate the noise them make.

100% success rate since day 1
Since the weather got warm this summer, the gravelled area outside my sheds and the garden border where we grow fruit bushes have been used as a public toilet for the neighbourhood cat collective. My goodness did it stink. Flicked all the cack into the bushes with a trowel and set these bad boys up. I've got both knobs set at about the 9 O'clock position and they activate whenever I walk past.Next morning I went down to my shed to start the day's work and was pleased to find no feline poop in the vicinity. It's been nearly a week now, and no further deposits have been left. I will update the review again in a few weeks. If they prove to be effective long-term, I have plans to drill a hole in the back of the box and fit a (sealed) wire trailing back into my garden shed, so that I can power them from a mains power supply. Currently running of some 2Ah rechargeable batteries.[Update, after 1 months' use]Still going strong. Not only has there been no 'caca de gato' in the problem areas; I haven't seen a single cat in my garden since installing these.I recharged the batteries I'd put on one of the devices after 2 weeks - it had taken about 500mAh. Another 2 weeks later and I recharged the other device. That one had taken about 800mAh from the batteries in a month - but we've been on holiday for a week in that time. So, I reckon that with me walking past the sensors a few times a day and whatever creatures walk past unseen - a set of 2Ah rechargeable batteries should last about 2 months.[Update after 10 months' use]Still going strong, and not a single piece of cat doo-doo outside my sheds. 2Ah NiMH batteries only need charging every couple of months. So good in fact that I haven't bothered hard-wiring them into the mains.I am noticing a tiny bit of condensation appearing in the PIR window now. I could clear that by leaving the backs off, next time we have a very dry spell.

They actually work!
I've been having so many issues with Cats in the garden. Not only fouling but also killing anything and everything that moves. They pretty much spend all night every night in the garden. It's been a real pain.Until now. These things actually seem to be working. Whereas there wasn't a night where the cats weren't in the garden for about 6 hours a time, they haven't spent any time in the garden at all since these have been installed.I've seen the cats approach the garden, the sensor has activated, the cat reacts to it and legs it out of the garden. These things have been a huge breakthrough.I was sceptical at first but so far so good.

These Work
These work. Two neighbourhood cats were coming in every day, leaving many deposits and yellow patches on the lawn. Since putting these out ( six weeks ago) there has not been one visit from them. The PestBye only works from the front, where the lens and sensors are, so I bought the two pack, and have them angled to cover my small garden. If you have a bigger garden, I'd go for the three pack, to cover all angles. Mine are stuck in the ground ( they have a generous sized spike), so really easy to use, and I turn them to face a wall when gardening, to save the batteries. The birds still come, as do the bees, so no problem there. There are two dials on the front and I have them set at the halfway mark, and that seems enough to deter cats. The only slight draw back is that the batteries have a screwed down cover, on the back. There are four tiny screws, very fiddly, but I have now bought the correct tiny X style screwdriver, which should help. I put in Poundland batteries and, six weeks on, they are still going strong. If the gadgets continue to be effective, I will invest in some good quality rechargeable ones.Despite the tiny screws, I have given this 5 star rating because they deter cats without harming them, or any other wildlife.

Only works for short period of time before Foxes acclimatise
Initially seemed to work but foxes get use to them VERY quickly and I see them walking in front of the devices with no effect. They have buried rats in the garden and also frequent muck in the garden! Annoying!

Touch wood, they seem to have worked
I was dubious about these as I had a similar one before that didn't work.I bought them because they got good reviews and they weren't going to break the bank, and I was sick of the cat mess on the garden every night.I put one of these in my front garden, where a particular cat used to go regularly, and the other in my back garden, again near a popular spot for another cat. After I put them up, a couple of days later I had cat mess in the front garden, once. And none since, and it's been 3 months now.
