Comfortable & casual - no complaints!
I think these are a little 'orthopedic' looking (or maybe kind of dorky) - but the fit / feel is just as expected (great). I bought these because my all time favorites (Merrill Mimosa Gingers) are no longer available. I knew from that shoe, that a size 9 (for my 8.5 foot) would work great. No complaints really, I got them in black to wear with yoga pants & to look slightly more 'dressy' than clunky/ thicker tennis shoes & these serve that purpose. Almost every shoe I buy these days ends up rubbing - and tearing open one or both of my heels. Not these. I've had these on for 9 straight hours - not one heel blister or rub. Maybe I should change my rating to 5 stars then! I just think they look slightly dorky that is all. I got them for an awesome price too, a real deal at $35.

Love this shoe. Merrell sizes vary
I ordered this in an 8 originally, because my beloved 4-year old size 8 Merrells were going to be a bit heavy for an upcoming trip. I exchanged for a 7.5, which fit perfectly. My foot is neither narrow or wide, and this shoe can be worn with no-show socks or ankle socks and still look nice. Zoom in on the opening of the shoe, and you'll see there is a flexible fabric portion with an elastic hem. I'm hoping these will be the perfect shoe for my upcoming adventure. I've worn them several times and love the way they feel.POST-ADVENTURE UPDATE: My shoes saw me through tons of walking at different paces, in varying weather, and I am pleased with them. I do have a very important tip. Be careful when tightening the laces - this can change the way they fit, and the material in these shoes is NOT very forgiving. I learned this the hard way - I couldn't figure out why all of a sudden the little toe on my right foot was killing me - then I realized I had been a little overzealous when I laced them up the day before. I would recommend them if you're looking for a lightweight walking shoe, but I still love my older, clunky Merrells the most.

Not as comfortable as Mimosa Lace - Color not as pictured
/*Just ordered: first impression*/I ordered the Kangaroo brown versions of the shoes. They are not the color they appear in the photo at all. The color is much lighter and a much greener / grey brown than the photo which looks kind of orange-y and more like my last pair of "kangaroo" colored Merrell’s.I've also been wearing, the no-longer-produced Merrell “Mimosa Lace” for the past three years on an almost daily basis. These are not nearly as comfortable. The sole is too hard and thick. The overall shoe is a lot harder and clunkier. The Mimosa Lace shoes are much more form fitted and better looking for casual wear.I will likely be returning, but may try again with these in a different color.

Very disappointed...must have been "Seconds"...
Liked the shoes when I first received this pair...light weight enough for my foot issues (smashed right foot, now healed, which cannot withstand heavy shoes). The toe cap was a little shallow and the width was on the narrow side (for a medium width)...but these shoes fit fine. HOWEVER, I believe, I received a second-quality pair of shoes. The tongue on the left shoe was not sewn down on the inside end (compared to the one on the right shoe), leaving that inside edge loose. It then folded/crumpled at the big toe joint when I put the shoes on, making that left shoe painful to "try to" wear. The nap of the fabric/leather (?) on the right shoe was very rough, not at all as smooth as that on the left shoe [the shoes are made of a suede-type leather (?)]; these two shoes did not look like a matched pair! I returned this pair of shoes, after having them less than a day (thanks to Amazon's great return policy). I am VERY disappointed, to say the least...

Had to return them
I was extremely surprised that the Mimosa Glee walking shoes hurt my feet and I had to return them. I really hated it because they are a good looking shoe. Each shoe hurt my foot in a different spot. I own the Merrell hiking shoes and absolutely love them. But they are considerably wider in the toe area than the walking shoes were. So I suppose that is the reason. Right after I purchased my Merrell hiking shoes I put them on and went off to Europe on a walking tour and loved them. Thank heavens I didn't try that stunt with the walking shoes.

Narrow fit
I've bought a Merrell sneaker in the past, but this style fit very narrow. Since they don't carry a wide option, I switched and bought the same style I previously owned. Others had commented on other Merrell shoes fitting narrow also. I don't see how another size up would change that so I was disappointed. I ended up buying the Deep Tan Zoreli Zip. I already had a pair in White in a size 8 and they fit good (definitely wide enough), but I bought an 8.5 this time because it gives me just a touch more big toe space. My big toe came right up to the toe on the size 8 even though I still found it comfortable. I've had those for more than a year and wear them all the time. I've tried to expand out to other Merrell shoes since they are soooo comfortable (even for long walking) but most of the comments I see on other styles mention that they are too narrow. They need to make a 'wide' option in these shoes and they'd be a great hit for everyone.

liked shoe, but returned...
I ordered up a half size due to the reviews (normally wear a 9 and ordered 9.5) and the shoe fit, but the tongue and upper shoe is very stiff and was not comfortable on my foot. Too bad as the overall shoe has a good look to it. I wore it around the house for a couple of hours and had to take it off because it bothered the top of my foot. I did put in a foam cushion to make it more comfortable, but I do that with all my shoes.

I figured this was a good compromise between all-out hiking shoes and casual around-town shoes
I bought these to take on a trip to Colorado when I knew I'd been walking around a lot. I figured this was a good compromise between all-out hiking shoes and casual around-town shoes. They ended up being ok, but I switched shoes halfway though the trip and ended up wearing my sanuks instead. The tow box was a little too narrow and it ended up rubbing my toe. They aren't bad and I liked the look, but I have better options already in my closet.
